Revival Drama Workshops aims to teach theatre to children and young adults. Our objective is to spread awareness of the classic plays, reviving the classic art form and elevating our audiences’ taste in the art-form. Join our workshops and learn about different acting styles, plays from various eras and gain many social and presentation skills! Our workshops are suitable for anyone pursuing acting as a career or just would like to enjoy the many benefits of drama!
About our workshop leaders:
Aya Ahmed has a Bachelor in English Literature and a Masters in Secondary English Education. Besides teaching language and literature for six years, Aya has been teaching drama for three. She is a Shakespear fanatic who has a great sense of humor. Her students adore her and say she is super fun to be around. During her latest production, she developed a talent and passion for costume and props design. She is very creative and very excited to be teaching drama.
Shereen Alaa has a Bachelor in Theatre from AUC. Besides teaching Drama for 7 years, Shereen also produced an awareness play about HIV in cooperation with Y-PEER, as well as, conducted several workshops on Theatre-Based Education in several countries including Egypt and Lebanon with the same institution. Not only that, Shereen has the ability to bring out the best in all her students and foster in them not only acting talents, but also directing and stage management skills. In 2016 she produced Macbeth at GPIS with the MYP senior class as the ensemble. Her students directed, managed and performed the play. It was shown at El Sawy Culture Wheel later that year.
Reem el Meligui Graduated at AUC 2010 with a major in theater and a minor in business. Had her masters in marketing at ESLSCA paris business school. Acted in a play directed by Dr.MAhmoud EL lozy. Worked as a trainee under the supervision of director Amed Medhat. Directed an awareness play for HIV in cooperation with y-peer. Co-directed and stage managed a children’s play with Dr. Leila saad. Stage managed the opera “Dido and aneas” produced by the AUC. Reem has a strong passion for theater, her dream is to revive the theater business in Egypt.
