‘Van Gogh and Britain’ at the Tate
Tate Britain opens a major exhibition about Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890). “The EY Exhibition: Van Gogh and Britain” is the first exhibition to take a new look at the artist through his relationship with Britain. March 27 to August 11, 2019.
Tintoretto at the National Gallery, Washington
The first full-scale retrospective of the artist in America, Tintoretto: Artist of Renaissance Venice presents a complete overview of his work, thanks to many significant loans traveling to the U.S. for the first time. March 24 through July 7, 2019, at the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
Sorolla: Spanish Master of Light – National Gallery
The first major exhibition in the UK for over a century of the artist known as Spain’s Impressionist, Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (1863–1923), opens at the National Gallery, London. 18 March – 7 July 2019.
Ancient Middle East at the Metropolitan Museum
The landmark exhibition ‘The World between Empires: Art and Identity in the Ancient Middle East’, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, focuses on the remarkable cultural, religious, and commercial exchange that took place in cities including Petra, Sidon, Baalbek, Palmyra, and Hatra between 100 B.C. and A.D. 250. March 18 – June 23, 2019.
New Order: Art and Technology at MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art presents ‘New Order: Art and Technology in the Twenty-First Century’. Drawn entirely from MoMA’s collection, the exhibition includes works made since the turn of the millennium that push the boundaries of technology. March 17 through June 15, 2019.
